a very special day + some bone chilling disney urban legends!
edit! today (may 18th) it's also 11 years ago that my wish was granted through make a wish! my wish wasn't disney related! but it was travel related! my wish was to go from my home in The Netherlands to America to meet the breeders of my dog, pammy! it was such an amazing experience! I will never forget it! one of my favorite memories was when we were leaving for America! even though everything that could go wrong did go wrong! make a wish forgot to get a travel visa for us! and my dad went and try to fix it! and after a lot of struggling the visa for my sister popped out! but the rest didn't! we were all stressed out! but the captain of the plane came out and said: don't worry, we aren't leaving without you! so we went to America without a visa! and when we landed we did have a chance to go into chock pit! and the captain of the plane says to me: I have a very special gift for you! he has golden wings on his jacket, he takes them of his jacket and gives them to me! I will never forget that moment! another moment that comes to my mind is from the first day we visited the breeders! me and my sister were sitting in the play pin with puppies! when the puppies decided to take a nap in the shade behind me! I have added a picture to this blog of that moment! I also have a video of my wish made by my friends who we visited! the rest of the blog can be found underneath the picture!
thank you!
now onto the main event! This week we are going to cover some spooky disney urban legends! Our first urban legend is about a lamp! Did you know that Walt Disney had an apartment build inside Disneyland California? This is a real location that I hope to be able to visit someday! it is located above the fire station in Main Street Usa! That’s where our first urban legend takes place! You see Walt Disney had a way to let guests know when he was in the park! It was through this lamp that was at the window overlooking Main Street Usa! Walt would turn this lamp on to let guests know that he was there! After Walt Disney died in 1966 there was even ceremony where the light was turned off! After this ceremony however somebody went up there to clean the apartment and the light turned on by it self! they went to turn it off! But it turned back on! That’s when they heard Walt Disney’s voice say: I’m still here! Ever since then they left the light on in memory of Walt Disney!
Our second urban legend is about Disney’s spookiest attraction, the haunted mansion! Legend goes that there was a boy who loved the haunted mansion so much that he wished that they could spread his ashes there! This boy unfortunately died. And his mother wanted to grant his final wish! But disney said no to the spreading of the ashes. They did however allow them to hold their funeral service there! But in the middle of the service the mother got a package out and began to spread what looked like white powder! But it turned out to be her sons ashes! Disney immediately shut it down and cleaned everything! But they must have missed something, because ever since incident guests have reported seeing a little boy crying near the exit of the haunted mansion!
Our third urban legend is about the pirates of the Caribbean! Legend has it that there was once a construction worker named George who worked on the pirates of the Caribbean! He died working on one of the scenes! And ever since the cast members who open the pirates of the Caribbean ride have to say good morning George and goodnight George! Because if they don’t the ride would break down!
Our fourth and final urban legend is also about the pirates of the Caribbean ride! Did you know that back when the ride was build they used real skeletons? Because back in the day plastic skeletons didn’t look real enough! So disney approached medical facilities to ask for real skeletons to use for the ride! So for the first few years they used real skeletons! But as technology improved the plastic skeletons also improved! So disney ended up replacing the real skeletons with fake ones! However some people think that not all of the skeletons were replaced! They think that the skull and crossed bones in the bedroom scene are still real to this day!
Next we are going to talk about abandoned and broken down effects and animatronics! See you next week!
